Gar is a vigorous advocate on behalf of his clients. He has served as a lawyer representing the State of Maryland and the United States. More important, he has represented individuals and businesses facing significant legal issues and found ways to help them overcome the challenges before them.
Trial and Appellate Lawyer
Gar represents people and companies at trial and on appeal in federal and state courts in criminal matters, commercial contract disputes, civil fraud, environmental crime and complex fact cases. He has been Chair of the Maryland State Bar Association Litigation Section and President of the Anne Arundel County Inns of Court. While serving as an Assistant State’s Attorney for Anne Arundel County in the Economic Crimes Section, he prosecuted cases of homicide, fraud, employee theft, intellectual property theft, fiduciary embezzlement, computer crime, arson for profit, identity theft, and police misconduct.
Legal Adviser
He helps businesses assess and navigate challenge and opportunity as their operations confront legal issues. He has served as counsel to negotiate contracts, form and restructure businesses, plan for business succession, resolve regulatory issues, and conduct internal compliance and risk assessment investigations.
